Painting My Afternoons
Words and music by Xavier Calvera
Painting a canvas in my room
Trying to stretch the afternoon
Body still longs for your perfume
Thinking of days of summer that I spent with you
Colors are flowing from my mouth
Stroking the canvas North To South
A whisper is always way too loud
Seeking those days of summer that I spent with you.
I layer the paint, I layer the paint
I layer the paint, it's always the same
I remix the colors but it's always the same
I mix and I mix but it's always the same
Painting my afternoons away
Painting my afternoons away
Instrumental break
I mix the colors once again
Trying to give it a new bend
But it always just leads me to this end
Painting those days of summer that I spent with you.
Painting my afternoons away
Painting my afternoons away.
