Major Orisha. He is a symbol of great wisdom and the diviner among the Orishas. He is most powerful and answers to Olofi himself. Through the Table of Ifa he can fortell the future. He is the chief of all the babalawos, the high priests of the Lucumi religion. His colors are green and yellow.
Orunla is the only Orisha that knows the divination secrets of Ifa. Orunla doesn't mount anyone and only communicates through the oracles. They are the Ekuele and the Table of Ifa. The Table of Ifa is round and about 14 inches in diameter. The border is carved and four corners are deliniated and designed as the four cardinal points. Orunla tosses seeds in the table for divination.
Orunla's necklace is made of alternating yellow and green beads. He protects from and cures insanity. His catholic personification is San Francis of Assissi. He is San Jose of the Mountains in Havana and Santiago de Cuba.
